How Quickly Vietnam Learns

The Central Highland Vietnamese province of Lam Dong has announced a list of 28 projects calling for investment, accompanied by a host of investment incentives.

The projects deal in areas from hospitality to construction. The Vietnamese government has included very enticing incentives for foreign investors. Incentives include exemptions on corporate income tax for the first four years. In the four ensuing years, the firm will continue to enjoy a 50 percent reduction of the tax, which can be reimbursed totally if it channels profits toward re-investment.

Other incentives include exemptions on duties on goods imported as fixed assets, and pedigree animals and plants. Businesses are also exempt from import tariffs on production materials during their first five years of operation.
