Candian Firm Cashing In
One million tons of Kazakh oil to be extracted in 2004...
According to a Kazakhstani news agency, a Kazakh-Canadian oil firm is set to extract 1 million tons of oil in Kazakhstan's western Aktyubinsk Region.
"The KazakhOil/Aktobe limited liability partnership, in which the KazMunayGaz national oil and gas company and Canada's Nelson Resources Ltd hold 50 per cent of shares each, is planning to extract 1 million tons of oil from the Alibekmola deposit in 2004," the report said, quoting the company's chief executive director, Nick Zan.
