Iran-Turkmenistan Continue Cooperation
Joint projects in oil and gas lend more credence to proposed pipeline...
Iranian firms plan to build a polyethylene producing plant in Turkmenistan. This project, which is another example of continued cooperation between the two countries, was approved today by Turkmen President Saparmyrat Nyyazow at his meeting with Kamal Kharrazi, the minister of foreign affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
At present, Iranian companies are successfully constructing gas liquefying facilities and earlier they took part in the reconstruction of Turkmenbasy (former Krasnovodsk) oil refinery in western Turkmenistan.
Nyyazow and Kharrazi also discussed the possibility of implementing a large-scale regional project of Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran oil pipeline. All current and future Turkmen-Iranian projects will be the topic of discussions at the forthcoming session of (joint) economic cooperation commission. It will take place in Tehran in the near future, the Iranian guest told Nyyazow.
