Iran and UAE continue dispute over oil-rich islands, as APE tries to resolve.....
The Arab Parliamentary Union (APU) has voiced strong support for UAE efforts to regain its occupied islands of Abu Musa, Greater and Lesser Tunbs.
An APU communique re-affirmed the right of the UAE over the islands, including its territorial waters, airspace, economic zones and coral reefs. They are part and parcel of the UAE, said the communique which also urged Iran to reciprocate to the peaceful UAE overtures to settle the issue through international arbitration or bilateral talks.
The communique expressed the hope that current contacts between the UAE and Iran would lead to a peaceful settlement of the dispute in a manner that would reinforce the security and stability of the region.
