Three UK based firms are part of a consortium that won $77 million of contracts to rebuild Iraq. The US has awarded seven relatively small contracts, with two winning consortia involving UK subsidiaries of American companies: Foster Wheeler, in the oil sector, and Parsons-Brinkerhoff, in the power sector. Halcrow, an engineer, is acting as sub-consultant to a third consortium in the water sector.
