Iran Reaching Out

Egyptian Oil Minister Samah Fahmi recently met with Iranian Oil Minister Bizhan Namdar-Zangeneh to discuss means of strengthening joint cooperation in oil, gas and petrochemical industries.

Discussions also touched on setting up joint firms to market oil products and on making a study on integration of petrochemical projects in the two countries. Fahmi said the talks made it clear that the two countries wished to boost joint coloration in various domains.

The Iranian petroleum minister is currently visiting Egypt to attend the fourth ministerial conference of natural gas exporting countries.

Representatives of 14 gas producing and exporting countries take part in the meeting which focuses on technical cooperation, exchange of expertise and information and transfer of technology in order to develop the gas industry.
