Putin and Blair yak it up....
A telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and British Prime Minister Tony Blair took place on Monday, according to the press service of the head of the Russian state.
The British prime minister congratulated Vladimir Putin "on his great achievement - the significant result at the presidential election". Both sides stressed their firm intention to maintain in all possible ways the high level of Russian-British relations. They expressed satisfaction with the concrete results achieved in trade and investment cooperation and support for extending ties in this sphere.
Putin and Blair discussed plans for Russian-British contacts in 2004, including a joint participation in multilateral forums.
