Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister of Fuel and Energy, Andriy Klyuyev, confirmed his country's interest in filling the Odessa-Brody oil pipeline with Kazakh oil at a meeting with Kazakh Prime Minister Daniyal Akmetov in Astana.
"Andriy Klyuyev said that Ukraine was interested in Kazakhstan's involvement in the Odessa-Brody oil pipeline, which will get direct access to the countries of western Europe in the near future", says a press release issued by the Kazakh government's press service. The press release says that Ukraine is also ready to invite Kazakhstan to take part in other projects in the oil and gas sector.
At the talks Akhmetov noted "the big prospects for developing cooperation" between the two states in various sectors, including the oil and gas sector, the press release says.
