This was reported yesterday by Bahr al-Ulum, the most prominent member of the Iraqi negotiating team. The remarks by the head of Iraq's Governing Council were reflected extensively in the regional Arab media and especially in al-Hayat.

Speaking about the outcome of his visit to Iran, Muhammad Bahr al-Ulum told al-Hayat newspaper: This delegation reached an agreement with Iranian officials on solving security problems along the two countries' borders. According to Bahr al-Ulum, during the meeting with the Iranian officials fresh discussions were held on installing Iranian oil pipelines to Iraq for the country's oil exports. The head of the Iraqi Governing Council described the outcome of his discussions in Tehran as very fruitful. Prior to this, officials in Tehran had reported that important proposals had been included on the agenda of the discussions between the two sides.
