According to the Iraqi oil minister, in the past two weeks 6 million barrels of Kirkuk oil had been exported through Baba Gurgur oil pipelines to Turkey's main refineries in Cehan port. This has marked an increase in the sale of the Iraqi oil.

The Iraqi minister also indicated that Kirkuk's oil is the best quality of oil in Iraq and that well-known international companies are competing to buy, produce and refine this type of oil.

He added: "Although sabotage work has up until now caused damage to KirkukCehan oil pipelines, nevertheless they are now working at their full capacity. Furthermore, it is expected that through these pipelines Iraq can export more than five to eight million barrels a day".
