F-16s Ready for Duty in Lithuania

NATO F-16 fighters will arrive at the Lithuanian Siauliai military airfield today. On March 27, a C-130 Hercules transport plane delivered supporting personnel and necessary facilities to Siauliai. NATO will protect the airspace over Lithuania beginning March 29, Lithuanian authorities reported.

A second NATO support airfield may be located in Estonia. NATO is considering the possibility to locate its support airbase near Tallinn.
