An LNG Future»

According to a report in China Daily, China could have seven liquefied natural gas import terminals in operation by 2010.

The nation already has three firm LNG terminal projects in hand in the Gungdong, Fujian, and Zhejiang provinces.

China National Offshore Oil Corp, the country's third largest oil company, is involved in all three projects.

And last month CNOOC signed a memorandum of understanding to study the possibility of building a fourth terminal in Tianjin.

The report said at least three more LNG projects were under discussion.

If all were approved, China would have seven LNG terminals built along its coastline before 2010.
