China to Invest $241 Billion

According to a senior Chinese official, China will invest US$241 billion in building the national railway by the end of 2020.

At a press conference organized by the Ministry of Railways, Hu Yadong, vice minister of Railways, said foreign investors would be welcome in the construction.

The ministry has outlined a long-term plan to the year of 2020 on development of the railways. By the end of 2020, Hu said the national line will increase to 100,000 kilometers from 73,000 kilometers.
