Tuesday they were discussing plans of power hand over to an Iraqi interim government on June 30, and particularly over the powers of the U.S.-led force and its duration of stay in Iraq.
France, Germany, Russia and China expressed their willing to have some changes to a U.S.-British drafted resolution on Iraq's transition.
By the way, U.S. and British leaders say they take their troops out of Iraq if it is necessary, but this is not a part of the resolution.
The resolution presented to the Security Council members on Monday is an integral part of President Bush's plan for stabilizing Iraq and creating a democratic state there. Bush is striving to gain greater international support.
Some nations, including France and Germany, want an expiration date to be set for the multinational force and then the right to renew the force if the Iraqis agree.
