Indian oil and gas corporation ONGC and Indian petrochemical firm Reliance Industries Ltd are negotiating about a joint exploration and development projects abroad, particularly in the US and Africa.

The companies will have great profits if the alliance works, because they have similar objectives.

They are either planning to take equity in oil and gas blocks or to pick up equity in exploration and production companies.
