Chinese Foreing Minister: Shame on Vietnam

China?s Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhang Qiyue said that China expresses ?grave concern and strong dissatisfaction? over Vietnam National Oil and Gas Corporation's unilateral invitation of tenders for oil and gas explorations in disputed waters of the South China Sea.

Zhang Qiyue declared that China has indisputable sovereignty over the Spratly Islands and the nearby waters. The above actions of Vietnam have encroached up China's sovereign rights and maritime interests.
? We hope that Vietnam would rectify its mistake as soon as possible, earnestly adhere to the consensus between the two sides and the aim and principle of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea, not take any unilateral action that would lead to the complication or broadening of disputes, and join countries in the region to safeguard peace and stability in the South China Sea region with concrete actions?.

She added: ?At the same time, we also hope that international petroleum companies concerned would respect the solemn and just stand of the Chinese government on this issue in real earnest and would not do anything that would harm China's sovereign rights and maritime interests?.
