Russia foretastes expanding its economic ties with Venezuela and implementing agreements in the areas of technology, mining and industry.
According to Russian ambassador to Caracas Carlos Mendoza, Russia will concretize investment projects during the upcoming visit the President Vladimir Putin to Venezuela.
The Russian firm Ruskiy Alumini and the Venezuelan Corporation of Guayana are negotiating the final details of establishing a new company Rusal, in which Moscow will invest $1 billion, said Mendoza.
Another agreement is going to be implemented with Venezuela, which could include aspects related to the increase of exports.
The ambassador also said that senior staff of the Russian company Lukoil visited Venezuela either to evaluate future investment in the natural-gas-producing Deltana Rig and in the petroleum refining plant of Jose, in the northeastern state of Anzoategui.
