Gazprom Could Cut Supplies To Turkmenistan:Analysts

Russian gas monopoly Gazprom could cut supplies of Turkmenistani gas if the government of Turkmenistan insists on increasing price for these gas supplies, analysts believe.

Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller and Turkmenistani President Saparmurat Niyazov discussed supplies of Turkmenistani gas to Russia.

Russia wanted to buy 7bn cubic meters of Turkmenistani gas in 2005.

The gas monopoly could buy gas from Russian independent companies. Kazakhstan has expressed its readiness to boost gas supplies to Russia. On February 5, Gazprom signed a contract on supplies of 5bn cubic meters of gas produced by Uzbekistan.
