WTO Accession Means Great Changes For Russia

Russia?s Economy Minister German Gref predicted on Friday that an investment boom would hit Russia when it joins the World Trade Organization (WTO).

In an interview to RIA Novosti agency he said, ?WTO accession is a powerful impulse to increase the investment attractiveness and the rate of economic growth.?
?This may become one of the most serious inputs into the business of doubling Russia?s GDP.?

Speaking of WTO accession negotiations with one of Russia?s major trading partners ? the United States ? German Gref noted that the final result will in many ways depend on the political will of the Russian and the U.S. leaders. The Russian Economy Minister said that overall negotiations with the United States are proceeding ?in a constructive and good-natured manner?.
