The head of the World Bank?s Moscow office Kristalina Georgieva, said that Russia?s entry to the World Trade Organization will boost the country?s economic growth by one percent a year.
Speaking at a seminar ?Trade policies and accession to the WTO in the interest of Russia and CIS development,? she said that the World Bank has come to the conclusion that economic growth is greater in open economies than it is in closed ones.
She stressed that Russia has done a lot in order to lower administrative barriers to investments, however, she emphasized, the additional measures are necessary in a number of industrial sectors.
