Russian respondents called the Americans rude, immoral and greedy, but hard-working and inventive, according to the Pew Global Attitudes Project?s latest poll, which has revealed the attitudes of 16 countries? nationals toward the Americans, Mosnews.com reported.
42 percent of Russians see the Americans as immoral, so do 37 percent of the French and 38 percent of the Dutch.
48 percent call the Americans rude, just like 64 percent of the Canadian and 63 percent of the French.
Moreover, 60 percent of Russian respondents say the Americans are greedy, and so do think 67 percent of the Dutch and 64% of English people.
Only 32 percent of Russians think the Americans are honest, together with 57 percent of the English and the French.
American inventiveness was pointed out by 56 percent of the Russian, 76 percent of the German, Canadian and French respondents.
72 percent of Russians said the Americans were hard-working, and so did 89 percent of the French and 84 percent of the Dutch.
However, Russia is among five most pro-American countries with 52 percent of nationals having a positive attitude towards the U.S., following India with 71 percent, Poland with 62, Canada 59 and Great Britain with 55 percent. The poll shows an increase in the number of Russian admirers of the U.S. since 2000 from 27 to 52 percent.
