China's President Lobbies Russia's President For Oil&Gas Help

Chinese President Hu Jintao began a four-day visit to Russia, to lobby Russian President for a Chinese branch of the new Russian pipeline from Eastern Siberia to the Pacific Ocean coast, and to offer considering selling stakes in Russian oilfields to Chinese firms.

After Russia?s visit Hu Jintao will go to Kazakhstan on Sunday, where he will take part in a summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

According to China?s Assistant Foreign Minister Li Hui, before the trip Russia and China will sign agreements in the fields of energy, finance, electricity and other areas.
