Indonesia is struggling to stem a production decline

Indonesia's OPEC Membership Disputable

Indonesia said it expects to produce 1.075 million bpd of oil and condensate in 2005, below a budget target of 1.125 million bpd.
Indonesia had already estimated crude oil production would fall 6 percent in 2005 from last year's 968,200 barrels per day because of ageing fields and lack of significant new output.

Indonesia is struggling to stem a production decline, because it makes Indonesia import crude and discredit its membership in the OPEC.

"Several oilfields can increase production but not much. However, several others are producing below target," BPMIGAS chief said.
