Russian Audit Chamber Doesn't Know That Everything Is OK

The Russian Audit Chamber prepares amendments to a new law ?On the resources?, which suggest that every natural resources field be equipped with counters to inform the Federal Environmental and Nature Management Supervision Service on the volume of the extraction.

It is supposed to help boost the extraction efficiency, because the recent checks of oil companies showed that some oil companies have too low operational efficiency, according to the Audit Chamber.

However, the Natural Resources Ministry considers that it would be difficult to carry out, and subsoil users consider the current system of extraction control is efficient.

The Natural Resources Ministry said it was surprised at the news. As the ministry?s press service said, the companies already have their own calculation centers, and a daily report on oil extraction comes to the Central Control Department, which ensures a maximum compliance with license agreements.
