Dai Yande, China?s Energy Research Institute deputy director said that the energy consumption growth of the country has been 30%-60% higher than the economic growth in recent years, with energy elasticity coefficient reaching 1.6 percent.
Dai said that China has entered into a period for the development of heavy industry and chemicals, in which higher energy consumption is inevitable. China should improve the utilization efficiency of energy, develop and use more renewable energy.
