Russia's Gasoline Prices Stable
The outlook of the Industry and Energy Ministry is rather optimistic
Gasoline prices hit records in Russia last year, surging 30 percent with inflation growth of 12 percent. This year the situation is quite opposite, Russian daily Kommersant says, suspecting that it gives clue to the actual reason of the price growth.
Anatoly Yanovsky, head of the fuel and energy department at the RF Industry and Energy Ministry, reported manufacturer prices went up 3.7 percent for gasoline in the first seven months, diesel fuel prices climbed 10 percent.
Retail prices for low bracket gasoline widened 4 percent, super gasoline climbed 5 percent, diesel fuel grew 6.2 percent. The inflation was 8.3 percent in the period. Manufacturer prices for gasoline shed 3.6 percent on month in June to average 7.05 rubles/liter.
Thus the outlook of the Industry and Energy Ministry is rather optimistic, which presumes 1-2 percent growth in gasoline prices from September to November and expect them not to exceed inflation by the year?s result.
