Putin To Step Down At Next Elections

The Russia?s President Vladimir Putin said it has no intention to stand as a presidential candidate for a third term.

Russia needed stability, he said, speaking to journalists in Moscow, and he won?t change the constitution of the state, where only two terms for presidential post are admitted.
Mr Putin has repeatedly said he will step down at the next presidential elections in 2008.

"I plan to leave the Kremlin in 2008, but I have no plans to leave Russia. And this is also a stabilizing factor," he said.
At the meeting with journalists, Mr Putin also denied that a new generation of oligarchs was emerging among state bureaucrats.
