Japan Ask Gulf Producers To Boost Oil Production

Japan asked the six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council on Saturday to make efforts to increase oil production to deal with surging crude oil prices, Japanese officials said.


In the Japan-GCC foreign ministerial talks at the U.N. headquarters in New York, the oil-producing council members responded that the GCC shares Japan's concerns and will continue efforts to deal with the situation, the officials said.
