President Vladimir Putin has offered Ukraine a commercial loan to assist in the transfer to market settlements for gas, the Interfax news agency reported on Thursday.
?We are ready to give a commercial loan to your company, Naftogaz Ukrainy, on guarantee of a first-rank international bank, either European or American,? Putin told Ukrainian Energy Minister Ivan Plachkov and Naftogaz Ukrainy CEO Oleksiy Ivchenko.
He said the loan may reach $3.6 billion.
