Ukraine has admitted Tuesady that it is stealing Russian natural gas from the pipeline transiting gas from Russia to European countries. It has been announced by Russia?s President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday, during the press conference.
Mr Putin expressed his dissatisfaction, connected with that fact, that Russia faced that unsanctioned activities of Ukraine without any conflicts.
According to the data, Ukraine siphoned extra 34-35 million cu. m of gas per day.
In connection with that, it?s very important for Russia to construct the North European Gas Pipeline, which will be laid on the bottom of the Baltic Sea, to avoid passing any countries.
President said that he would claim from Ukrainian government to pay for all the stolen gas. ?It is very important for us to get money for that extra gas at the price according to the agreement between Russia and Ukraine.? He said that it is possible to pay debt in February.
He said that since the volume of gas supplies to Ukraine is limited by 17 billion cu.m per year, and then Russia and Ukraine will again need to sign a new agreement on additional gas supply.
