Senior officials from Bangladesh, Egypt, Iran, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Turkey grouped in eight developing countries (D-8) will hold a two-day meeting on Monday in Bali, Indonesia, to discuss the framework of agreement on trade.
"We will discuss an agreement on trade to be signed by the D-8 leaders in the upcoming summit," Antara news agency Monday quoted Herry Soetanto, director general of the International Trade Cooperation at the Ministry of Trade, as saying.
In the meeting, senior officials will discuss trade preferences,among other things, lower import duty concessions for members of the group, the spokesman said here on Sunday.
He said, the meeting will not discuss products as yet, but develop a framework and guidelines on how to lower tariffs.
