Russia Delays WTO Joining

Russia may delay joining the World Trade Organization if it has to make too many difficult concessions, a parliamentary representative has said.

Boris Gryzlov said, "The accession to the WTO should "take place only on favourable terms".

Russia has been trying to join the WTO for more than 10 years.

Russia has been getting frustrated by the slow progress of its talks to the WTO, despite the fact that it has undertaken reforms to meet the organisation's economic criteria for membership.
