Russia To Buy Turkmen Gas and Sell it to Ukraine
Officials from both countries will meet later this month in Ashgabat
Russia will buy up to 50 billion cubic meters of natural gas from Turkmenistan annually for the next three years, the Turkmen Foreign Minister said.
Officials from both countries will meet later this month in Ashgabat to discuss price and other terms for the deal, the minister said.
Turkmenistan is the second-biggest gas producer in the former Soviet Union after Russia, and its vast gas resources are playing an increasingly important role in the geopolitics of the region.
