OPEC To Decide Cutting Oil Output in December

OPEC To Decide Cutting Oil Output in December

OPEC will reach a consensus on cutting oil production at its upcoming meeting in December, Venezuelan energy minister Rafael Ramirez said on Wednesday.

Venezuela, the fourth-largest exporter of oil to the United States, has consistently supported higher prices for crude oil.

"In December there will be consensus to act on (oil) volumes," Ramirez said during a televised interview on state television.

OPEC nations have in recent months struggled to provide markets with a unified message about production cuts.

Oil prices fell below $60 this week from a record high of close to $80 per barrel in July.
