Russia To Export 30bn cu.m of Gas to China

Russian ambassador to China Serguei Razov said that Russia would begin exporting 30 billion cubic meters of natural gas to China each year.

He said the National Gas Industry of Russia plans to lay two gas pipelines to China and begin exporting from 2011.

The western pipeline, designed to export gas from Siberia, will exit from the Altai Republic in Russia to Xinjiang in China, and eventually connect with channels built as part of China's Gas Transportation Project from West to East. The eastern pipeline will transport gas from Sakhalin in Russia to northeast China through the Russian Far East.
