Gazprom Executive to Chair Belorussian State Company Board

The representative of Russia's natural gas monopoly Gazprom will chair the supervisory board of Belorussian state oil and gas company Beltransgaz.

"At the end of June there will be a meeting of the new Beltransgaz
board of directors with participation by Gazprom representatives. The
supervisory board will include one representative from Gazprom, and this
representative will more than likely chair the supervisory board,"
Kazakov said. He suggested that the Beltransgaz board would be chaired
by Gazprom Deputy CEO Valery Golubev.

Kazakov said that a final date has yet to be set for the meeting,
but that it would take place in the period from June 20 to 27.

Gazprom paid $625 million for 12.5% of Beltransgaz at the start of
June. Gazprom will buy a 50% stake in Beltransgaz in equal lots in 2007-
2010 for a total of $2.5 billion.
