Russia's President Agitates for His Party
Russia's President Vladimir Putin urged the nation to turn out at elections December 2 and vote for United Russia
Russia’s President Vladimir Putin, who heads the slate of United Russia candidates, urged the nation to turn out at elections December 2 and vote for United Russia, Kommersant reported.
“We cannot allow the return to power of those who once attempted to rule the country and would like today to redraw and drown in empty talk the plans for Russia’s development, change the course backed up by our nation, bring back the time of humiliation, dependence and disintegration,” the president said in a television address to the Russians.
The outcome of State Duma elections would set the tune for the presidential campaign, the president emphasized. The country actually enters the period of entire renewal of supreme legislative and executive bodies, Putin pointed out, specifying that it is necessary to ensure continuity of the course and create conditions for fulfilling the targets.
