“We cannot allow the return to power of those who once attempted to rule the country and would like today to redraw and drown in empty talk the plans for Russia’s development, change the course backed up by our nation, bring back the time of humiliation, dependence and disintegration,” the president said in a television address to the Russians.
The outcome of State Duma elections would set the tune for the presidential campaign, the president emphasized.
