Saudi Arabia, which produces more than 10 percent of the world's daily oil supply
Saudi Arabia, which produces more than 10 percent of the world's daily oil supply, is improving its oilfield defences.
The country produces about 9 million barrels of the worldwide supply of 86 million barrels per day.
Concerned about al-Qaeda and Iran, Saudi Arabia is spending billions of dollars in defence technology and weapons.
Al-Qaeda militants have already launched attacks on Saudi oilfields, which have led to a mass departure of oil workers.
To guard the country's oil facilities, the Saudis have created a Petroleum Facilities Force made up of Saudi military and police.
Its job is to protect pipelines and the compounds which house the oil drills and workers.
