Iraq threatened South Korea to suspend crude oil exports if a South Korean consortium continues to explore oil in a Kurdish-controlled region.
The Kurdistan regional government in early November awarded the South Korean group exploration rights for an oilfield in the Dahuk region of northern Iraq.
The oilfiled is currently operated by Korea National Oil Corp and SK Energy.
