Gazprom Has to Sell 2 Power Plants to Make a Merger

Service may make approval of a merger between Russia's gas giant Gazprom and Siberian Coal and Energy Company, conditional on Gazprom's sale of two power plants, a source familiar with the matter said.

The source said the plants in question were the Kirishi and Stavropol state district power plants, which are part of the TGK-1 and OGK-2 generating companies respectively.

The Antimonopoly Service's chief Igor Artemiyev said that the FAS would order
the companies to sell some of their regional assets for the deal to be approved.
