Imperial Energy Discovers First New Oil At Kiev Eganskoye Field

Imperial Energy Corp. Plc. said it has discovered first new oil at its Kiev Eganskoye field, East of the OB River in the Tomsk region of the Russian Federation.

The FTSE-250 company said this reservoir was not its primary objective and drilling continues to target the deeper B10, Jurassic and Paleozoic sands.

Imperial said it is in the process of batch drilling five wells on the Kiev Eganskoye field with three heavy duty rigs, including the company's recently purchased rig 502, and added 14 further wells are planned to be drilled on the field this year.
