The XIIth St. Petersburg International Economic Forum begins in Russia's second largest city today, and will last until June 8. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev is expected to speak on international issues on the first day of the event. Such matters as food security and the energy industry are also on the agenda for that day.
Moreover, First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov, Economy Minister Elvira Nabiullina, Governor of St. Petersburg Valentina Matviyenko, Sberbank President and CEO German Gref, Gazprom's Chairman of the Executive Board Alexei Miller, Russian Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin, and many others are scheduled to participate in the forum.
