Gazprom does not rule out the possibility of starting the supply of liquefied natural gas from the Sakhalin-2 project ahead of schedule, in December 2008 instead of early 2009 as originally planned, Alexander Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Gazprom's Management Committee, told a press conference today. He noted that the early launch of the project could happen under certain conditions, although he did not reveal further details.
Medvedev also noted that Gazprom intended to complete the feasibility study on an increase in the project's gas production in the first half of 2009.
