The news was reported by Galo Chiriboga, the Ecuadorian Minister of Mines and Petroleum.
"This is basically a visit to track the agreements we have with Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA). We expect to complete the operations and activities in the Sacha field (in the Amazon region). We also want to review bilateral energy issues we have with Venezuela," Chiriboga said on the Ecuadorian public radio, as reported by Efe.
The top official recalled that Ecuador has not only oil operations in Venezuela, but also in Chile, a country with which Ecuador organized a few weeks ago a joint venture to explore an area of the Gulf of Guayaquil in search of natural gas.
