Russia May Suspend Import Duties
Bloomberg reported that Russia may suspend import duties on certain steel products for nine months as the government seeks to help automakers and pipe producers
It is reported that the Russian government may temporarily suspend import duties for scrap, galvanized steel sheet and some rolled steel products for large pipe curb soaring raw material costs in automakers and steel pipe manufacturers, for a period of 9 months.
However, some market participants said this is not a good time that the Russian government to formulate such a policy, because current steel prices are dropping.
