Russia's oil exports reached 247.4 million tons in 2009, up 1.8 percent from a year earlier, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said on Wednesday. Oil exports accounted for 33.3 percent of Russia's overall exports and 50 percent of the country's fuel exports last year, Rosstat said.
Russia's oil exploration rose 1.2 percent to 493.7 million tons in 2009. The average price for Russia's oil exports stands at 508.7 U.S. dollars a ton in December 2009, up 0.3 percent from November, while the average price for Urals crude, Russia's main export earner dropped by 3.2 percent to 537.9 dollars per ton.
