Transneftstroy has increased the speed at which it is building the second line of the VSTO pipeline to 1.5 kilometers per day, Transneftstroy General Director Aleksey Polyakov reported today. He added that in April, construction would accelerate to 2 kilometers per day.
Polyakov said that there are currently seven pipe-welding columns working on VSTO-2. Another two will join the effort in April. Transneftstroy still needs to build 889 kilometers on the VSTO-2 pipeline. Polyakov said work remaining to be done includes “laying pipelines and power lines, laying the pipeline across the Bira river using micro-tunneling technologies”. Transneftstroy plans to accomplish all the work using its own resources. Sub-contractors will only be used for specialized jobs, vstoneft.ru reports.
