From January to April 2010, Russian gas exports nearly doubled compared to the same period in 2009 to 65.6 billion cubic meters of gas, the Russian Energy Ministry Statistics Department reported. During the same period, Russia produced 165.3 million tons of crude and gas condensate, 3 percent over figures for January-April 2009. Of this volume, 80.2 million tons was refined in Russia and 80.7 million tons was exported.
In the first four months of the year, Russia produced 237.9 billion cubic meters of gas, an increase of 20.4 percent.Domestic gas consumption grew 9 percent to 191.5 billion cubic meters of gas.
