Brazil wants Russia to develop new energy projects

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has invited Russia to take part in developing new fields, RIA-Novosti reports. "New oil fields have recently been found and explored and now we are exerting great efforts to revive Brazilian ship-building industry and develop transportation route. All of this is possible in terms of developing Russian-Brazilian co-operation", da Silva said during a meeting with Russian Preisdent Dmitriy Medvedev on Friday.

As earlier reported, a source in the Kremlin said a number of joint Russian-Brazilian energy projects are being drafted in the energy sector. According to the source, Gazprom plans to open a regional office in Rio de Janeiro this year.
