Russian Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Prikhodko said on September 7, 2016, that Gazprom and Rosneft are interested in carrying out projects in Laos.
«Rosneft is interested in supplying petroleum products to Laos, Gazprom is expressing willingness to participate in hydrocarbon production projects,» Prikhodko said at a briefing.
He also added that feasibility studies are being conducted on Russian involvement in the construction of new hydroelectric stations in Laos.
Delegation of the Laos government made in July 2016 an offer to Russian companies to implement a project of construction of the Laos-Vietnam pipeline and to build a refinery in Laos.
«We are aware of Laos’ interest in the participation of Russian companies in development of refining facilities in the country,» the laotian official said. «Our government delegation held talks in the 2nd half of April 2016 with the management of leading Russian oil and gas companies Rosneft, Lukoil and Gazprom International.»
